GHOST – CARCASS FRACAS
An ambient drone album about the realization and acknowledgment death and of the gauzy, fleeting nature of this earthly life. “… You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.” James 4:14b
Digital synths and natural analog recordings of machines, bug, and bells were used to create this album.

TRACKS:
1.Darkness:
On the loss of light from the eyes as they close in death. Produced for the album Yod (Hebrew number 10) on the plagues sent upon Egypt.
2.Gate Way:
Gates are in between where we are and where we’re going. Using metallic sounds to represent the gates we pass through in life and death. Gates can be frightening if we don’t know what’s beyond it. A beautiful garden or ferocious dog?
3. Mr. Black’s Repose:
Death also will lay down in repose one day.
4. Oh zone:
That self-aware moment of “Oh!” when the realization that we too will die. It rings a bell in awareness. My life is short. Life on earth is like a morning mist. Here then gone. What we have left of others is just a “ghost” of what they were here. A faint vision compared to Heaven.
5. Summer Falls:
The full bounty of life of summer with sunny days and green leaves eventual turns to Fall. Our earthly leaves fade and fall in time. Seasons change.
6. Toll Houses:
Each house (body) will hear the tolling of the bells. “It tolls for thee.”
7. Where Once He Was:
When we are gone, we leave empty the places where we were. Not like a rock in water but like the space between two people in a queue. Until we are together again, we will leave a space.


GHOST - On the finality of mortality:

Now to some unseen world he’ll go,
Where bliss they say will fall like snow.

To shake his coil of mortal kind,
To rest his bones and weary mind.

To take repose and give no thought,
to any care. No “sold”, nor “bought”.

No wondering where the end will take
his soul for there he’s soon to wake.

A man of means and kindness both.
A selfless one without an oath.

He took no names nor kicked a butt.
And now the coffin lid is shut.
