Poetry reading #13 — It appears from the biography of Claudel that he was fascinated with Japan from his early years (under the influence of his sister Camille) and that he became a member of the corps diplomatique essentially to have the opportunity to travel to Japan.
The haiku style of this poem seems to confirm it.
It contrasts with the exceptional length of his play "Le Soulier de satin".

Il ressort de la biographie de Claudel qu'il éprouvait une véritable fascination pour le Japon dès ses prime jeunesse (sous l'influence de sa sœur Camille) et qu'il est devenu un membre du corps diplomatique essentiellement d'avoir l'occasion de voyager au Japon.
Le style bref, façon haïku, de ce poème semble le confirmer.
Il contraste avec la longueur exceptionnelle de sa pièce "Le Soulier de satin".

Secondo la biografia di Claudel provò una fascinazione per il Giappone dalla sua prima giovinezza (sotto l'influenza della sorella Camille) e divenne un membro del corpo diplomatico essenzialmente al fino di avere la possibilità di viaggio in Giappone.
Il modo, stile haiku breve, di questa poesia sembra confermarlo.
Contrasta con la lunghezza eccezionale della sua dramma "La scarpina di raso".
