In a new interview with Variety, producer Sounwave revealed that Kendrick Lamar recorded between 80 and 100 songs for his new album, GNX, with only 12 making the cut. In this segment, we discuss if this level of perfectionism is a gift or a curse. We debate the true value of those 88 unreleased songs and ask if constant self-editing stifles an artist's output, or if we are analyzing the creative process too deeply.
