What was supposed to be a smooth day exploring Switzerland took an unexpected twist!
A train disruption changed all my plans, so I had to get creative and reshuffle my itinerary, starting with Männlichen first instead of Brienz.
Even though the weather wasn’t on my side (hello, rain and fog 🌧️), I still made the most of it! The mist added a peaceful, almost magical mood to the Männlichen trails, and I got to enjoy stunning alpine scenery in a completely different way.
Later in the day, I finally made it to Brienz for the much-awaited Brienz Rothorn steam train ride (I had to make another reservation as I missed my original one due to train disruption), one of the most scenic train journeys in Switzerland! 🇨🇭
Watching the vintage steam train climb the mountain with views over Lake Brienz was absolutely worth the change of plans.
