The Cathedral of Saint Andrew in Patras is the largest Orthodox church in Greece and the third largest in the Balkans. It was built on the place where Apostle Andrew, the first student of Jesus Christ, was crucified. It was built in Byzantine style starting from 1908 and was inaugurated in 1974. The interior of the church is decorated with murals and mosaics in Byzantine style.
In the church are preserved the relics of the apostle Saint Andrew, the small finger, part of the top of the cranium and small portions of the cross on which he was martyred.
You can also see the old building of the cathedral, built in 1835.
