Grace Kelly, Princess of Monaco's Golden Cage: A Fashion Profile. Grace Kelly was a top star and Oscar-winning actress during Hollywood's Golden Age. Her life was a leap from Hollywood's icy beauty to European royalty. She met Prince Rainier of Monaco in 1955 and married him in 1956. After marrying Prince Rainier, she transformed the kingdom into a symbol of luxury and used her powerful international influence to save Monaco from a sovereignty crisis. She actively devoted herself to art and children's charity, becoming the president of the Monaco Red Cross. This beautiful princess sacrificed her artistic freedom and personal happiness for the crown, ultimately dying in a car accident in 1982 at the age of 52. Two years after her death, her family established the Princess Grace Foundation.
