Lib Dem leader Ed Davey calls for Musk to be 'held to account' over comments on Britain

Sir Ed Davey has hit back at Elon Musk, who called the Liberal Democrat leader a "snivelling cretin" on social media.

Earlier this month, Musk hit out at top UK politicians and polled his X audience on whether the US should "liberate the people of Britain from their tyrannical government".

Sir Ed described Musk as "camped out" in Donald Trump's Oval Office, making his comments a "real matter of concern".

"I think Elon Musk needs to be held to account," he added.

"Calling out these over powerful, billionaire, US tech magnets... we can't allow them to get away with what they are trying to get away with, it's too damaging."
