Latent tuberculosis infection (LTBI) occurs when a person is infected with the bacterium Mycobacterium tuberculosis but does not show any symptoms or signs of active tuberculosis (TB) disease. In this state, the bacteria remain in the body but are inactive and do not cause illness.
‘India Fights TB’, an initiative by HEAL Foundation aims to create an ecosystem for Tuberculosis patients and caregivers, where they have access to accurate information, patient support groups, TB expert interviews, offline activities in their geography, government schemes for TB patients. We aim to Complement Government Initiatives and efforts to eradicate Tb by 2025 and encourage those who have suffered from TB and recovered (TB Survivors) to tell their stories through our platform. This will encourage ailing TB patients to fight back and come out with flying colours. We intend to provide them authentic information through- Patient Support Groups, Doctor talks, Doctor blogs , Promoting already existing TB content and information on Govt. sites
