Well if you watched last weeks video, thank you! But you will also know that I had a bit of a tumble. Firstly, thanks for the concern, I'm fine, no lasting damage to me. The rod however, took a beating. I smashed the ceramic inserts on 2 eyes in the tip section, and chipped a couple more. Luckily the customer care from Akios was top class. Simon offered to send me out replacement eyes, but I opted to purchase new tip sections. Firstly it means the rods back in action sooner, also it means the finish is top quality, not botched up in my garage with some random green cotton and nail varnish!

With the good weather continuing, and fish reports looking good, I opted for a quick session back on the Holderness coast. The sea was as flat as you would like, so Smoothound and Rays would be the target of the day.

Admittedly, this session wasn't as productive as the last one over this way, but it was still nice to be out, and the smoothounds continue to provide entertainment.

The power tips for the Akios Fury FX420, is a game changer. Maybe a little too stiff for the holderness coast, when targeting bass and smoothounds, I'd say the standard tip does just fine. But with the new Power tips being a hollow construction, and stiffer, I'd happily take the Fury's off in search of Tope (watch this space)
