Finally after 3 days of travel we could drive down the beach to fish. day one was all about testing the area and trying to find some sort of a pattern. our targeted species were Garrick also known as leervis as well as the big shad/elf or Tailor as the call them in Australia, in the states they are known as blue fish. We targeted these fish using lures only, the nurse we used were teflon surface plugs as well as some metal spoons. I played around a bit with some jigs and ducktail jigs and had some good succes on them.
