Trucking is among the jobs in the industry that is likely affected by automation. It is estimated that up to 70% of trucking jobs will be at risk by 2030. This has caused a lot of panic in the trucking industry. There is some optimism. Some truckers believe that fully automated trucking is unlikely to happen in our lifetimes. Other truckers believe that automation will be integrated into trucking. Either way, automation is here, and it will cause disruption.
