Why I quit my dream job at NBCUniversal... (with nothing lined up)

Throughout my 20s, I worked 70 hours per week and persisted through years of rejection and self-doubt to land my dream content creation job in media. As a digital video journalist at CNBC, whose parent company is NBCUniversal, I was a reporter, host, writer, shooter and editor all rolled into one, specializing in 10 min and longer explainer videos primarily covering personal finance and entrepreneurship. And then, five years into working at CNBC, a company I loved that paid me a very solid salary the last few years, I quit my dream job. With nothing lined up. No, I don't regret it. Here's why.
