Legends such as Kasparov and Karpov fought battles in The Reversed Sicilian (1 c4 e5). In these games, white usually plays g3 and puts the light squared bishop on g2.
However, in this video we give an introduction to lines from IM David Cummings book 'The English' where white avoids g3 and instead plays an early e3, opting to fight for the centre immediately.
For white, English openings are great as most preparation by black goes into d4 and e4. For black, The Reversed Sicilian is arguably an easier way to play against the English because it avoids the use of space conceding openings such as 1 ... g6 which can be difficult to play.
I have made an attempt to go through common mistakes and inaccuracies as lower rated players cannot expect to see main lines to a high level of depth. Feedback is most welcome.
