BlenderGIS Tutorial PART 1 - Digital Elevation Models

Tutorial “BlenderGIS - 3D geological modeling - PART 1 Digital Elevation Model” is the first of 5 tutorials with the objective to help geologist to reconstruct and present in augmented reality complex structural settings.

I assume you have BlenderGis Addon installed and have basic Blender skills.

The data you need are Digital Elevation Models (DEM) as ESRI ASCII Grid (.asc format), a geological map and surface fotos (Orthfotos) as .tif, .jpg, .jp2,.png raster files georeferenced exactly in the same CSR as the DEM. 

You may use your own data or can download sample data from for instant Swisstopo website
