LANDSCAPE PHOTOGRAPHY | CLIFF EDGE Chaos | A Wildly DRAMATIC Coast

In this week’s landscape photography episode I return to Malin Head, the most northerly tip of the Republic of Ireland, determined to capture the wild coast I had to abandon last time. The wind was kinder than before but still savage enough that I felt the camera might go over a 100 metre cliff at any moment. I balanced long exposure and short exposure techniques, stitched a long exposure panorama on a narrow ledge and switched to my telephoto lens to photograph a solitary sea stack topped with wheeling seabirds. The colour and sunset never fully arrived but the raw drama of the cliffs, surf and birds more than made up for it.
