Hello everyone! Today, I’m sharing my stay at the iconic Imabari Kokusai Hotel, a landmark in Imabari City, Ehime Prefecture, Japan. This hotel is a hub for explorers, especially those cycling the famous Shimanami Kaido or visiting the stunning Seto Inland Sea. 🏨🌊

🌟 Classic Japanese Luxury Walking into the lobby feels like stepping into a time capsule of old-school Japanese luxury. With marble floors, sparkling chandeliers, and a striking black centerpiece, the grand ambiance is something you don’t want to miss. The hotel also features a wedding chapel, banquet halls, and even shops specializing in the renowned Imabari Towels.

🛌 Spacious Rooms with a View The rooms here are unexpectedly large by Japanese standards, starting at 26 square meters, with breathtaking views of the Seto Inland Sea. My room was only $55 per night—a steal compared to its usual rates. Despite its age and a slight cigarette smell, the space and comfort more than made up for it.

🍽️ Dining Options The hotel offers a breakfast buffet and a variety of dining options in its restaurants. While I didn’t have breakfast there (my day started with a fishing trip and snacks from 7-Eleven!), the lobby’s elegance and garden views make it an inviting space to enjoy your meal.

🏊 Amenities The hotel boasts a swimming pool, a gym, and relaxing tatami mat areas. The pool, lit with natural sunlight, and the gym, though small, provide ample ways to unwind.

🚴 Perfect for Explorers Whether you’re here for the Shimanami Kaido, famous for its scenic cycling routes across islands, or for the local Imabari Udon, this hotel serves as a great base. The central location puts you close to shops and attractions, including a nearby Uniqlo.

💡 Final Thoughts While the hotel shows its age in some areas, its spacious rooms, unique charm, and unbeatable rates make it an excellent choice. If you’re visiting Imabari for cycling, fishing, or exploring the area, this hotel is worth considering.
