On the way you may encounter whirlpools and rapids, you need to be a very confident swimmer and have enough experience. Therefore, it is advisable to start in a pair or in a group with experienced people. Every year the river demands a "tribute" in the form of human lives. Often too self-confident swimmers set off and, without calculating their strength, even die. So be careful

How to swim in the Aare River?

What do you need to do? For starters, go upstream for a certain distance. Then jump into the water. Or carefully enter it for those who do not like unnecessary risk and know the right places. Then take a deep breath, exhale and swim "by the will of the waves" - and just as carefully exit along one of the many ladders arranged along the banks of the river. And so you can repeat it once or twice until you get tired or freeze!
