器の物語《国宝》「舟橋蒔絵硯箱」

永禄元年、京都に生まれた本阿弥光悦。
書家、陶芸家、芸術家など多方面でその足跡を残しました。

書の世界では、近衛信尹、松花堂昭乗とともに「寛永の三筆」の一人に数えられ、徳川家光からは「天下の重宝」と賞賛されるほどだったと言われます。

その代表作として知られるのが、国宝「舟橋蒔絵硯箱」です。
蒔絵を施した硯箱には、中世の和歌が散らし書きのように配され、豪華でありながら簡素な印象を与える名品。

こちらはその国宝を忠実に再現した逸品となります。

Hon'ami Koetsu was born in Kyoto in the first year of the Eiroku era.

He left his mark in many fields, including as a calligrapher, potter, and artist. In the world of calligraphy, he is counted as one of the "Three Calligraphers of the Kan'ei Era" along with Konoe Nobutada and Shokado Shōjō, and is said to have been praised by Tokugawa Iemitsu as "a treasure unto the world."

One of his masterpieces is the National Treasure "Funabashi Maki-e Inkstone Box."

The maki-e inkstone box is decorated with medieval waka poetry arranged in a scattered style, making it a masterpiece that gives an impression of simplicity while still being luxurious.

This is a masterpiece that faithfully reproduces that national treasure.
