Flights 38 & 39. ECP-ARA-IWS. These flights were for a number of reasons. The Main reason was to surprise my Padre's for their anniversary. Other reasons include conducting my first REAL cross country solo and rack up hours. In doing so, I encountered my best/highest crosswind landing ever (without my CFI) at ARA (about 3:40 in). I also flew through Class Bravo airspace for the first time. I went through New Orleans Bravo, but didn't record it, and it wasn't half as busy as Houston's Bravo. Note to pilots NOT trained in or near Bravo airspace: If you are not comfortable on the radios, take a CFI or more experience pilot with you for your first encounter in Bravo airspace. Flying a plane requires 100% attention, and Flying through Bravo requires 125%. With that being said, we aren't perfect and we make mistakes. Like thinking about your alternate airport when your landing at your primary! lol. Total Flight time was just over 7 hours. Flight was 26 Nov 14.
