This is a passion project made possible thanks to the superb 3D model done by Alexander Klemm (https://www.alex3d.at/about-me/) who graciously put it up on his website for people to download and learn.
The MIDI mockups were done in Cubase Pro 14 with orchestral libraries from Eastwest, Orchestral Tools and a few others, as well as audio FX plugins from 6th Sample, D16, Fabfilter, LiquidSonics, Plugin Alliance, and Waves. I did the mastering in Steinberg's Wavelab Pro 12 using iZotope's Ozone 11 and the Amek EQ 250 plugin from Plugin Alliance.
As for the ship, I did some work in Affinity Photo on the textures that came with it to make them rougher, then modified the materials in Blender to make it look more metallic and add emission to the letters. I'm sure that some Star Trek purists are going to yell that Gene Roddenberry is turning in his grave, but it's not like I painted flames on the sides :)
I did all the camera animation, some based on the J. J. Abrams Star Trek movies, some that I came up with just playing around in Blender.
Besides the ship, the nebulas were done with Mark Kingsnorth's "Nebula Generator" add-on for Blender (https://blendermarket.com/products/ne..., except the one that looks different, which was done in Zoltán Dócs' "IFS Renderer" (https://ifsrenderer.z97.io), a free program to generate the most amazing fractals you can imagine.
Renders from Blender were done to multilayer EXR sequences, which then I composited in Blender itself, using some post FXs in the "Photographer" add-on (https://chafouin.gumroad.com/l/photog....
All the editing was donde in Blackmagic's DaVinci Resolve Studio.
Just in case it's not clear, this is not endorsed in any way by J.J. Abrams, Bad Robot or Michael Giacchino.
