On May 20, 2019, the Storm Prediction Center issued a second RARE "Particularly Dangerous Situation", or 'PDS,' Tornado Watch (#199) for much of Oklahoma and a portion of northwest Texas. This coincided with a High Risk for severe thunderstorms and a High Risk for flash flooding, all of which are rare in their own respects. A PDS watch is only used for life-threatening severe weather situations.
