Meet Brontez Purnell | Small-Town Artist Turned Award-Winning Author & Performer

Author, choreographer, musician and performance artist Brontez Purnell channels his small town Alabama roots in everything he does. He is the award-winning author of the 2018 Whiting Award in Fiction for Since I Laid My Burden Down and 2022 Lambda Literary Awards for Gay Fiction for 100 Boyfriends. Purnell is also the frontman of the punk band The Younger Lovers and the founder of the Brontez Purnell Dance Company in New York.
