Shoba yatra was held on 23 December 2022. The First Day of Chirawa Mahotsav or Chirawa mela.

Aghoris are a sect of Hindu ascetics who are known for their unconventional and sometimes shocking practices, which may include living in cemeteries and consuming human remains. The term "aghori" is derived from the Sanskrit word "aghora," which means "not terrifying." Despite their association with death and taboo practices, Aghoris believe that they can attain liberation from the cycle of death and rebirth through spiritual practices that transcend societal norms and conventions. Aghoris often engage in extreme forms of asceticism, such as sitting in burial grounds or smearing themselves with the ashes of the dead, as a means of confronting their own mortality and attaining spiritual enlightenment.


Aghoris are often depicted in a negative light in popular media, and their practices are not condoned by mainstream Hinduism. However, Aghoris believe that their rituals and practices allow them to overcome the fear of death and attain a state of spiritual liberation. They view death as a natural part of the cycle of life, and see their rituals as a way of accepting and embracing the impermanent nature of all things. Despite their controversial practices, Aghoris are revered by some as spiritual masters and are believed to have the power to perform miracles and heal the sick
