Monsal Head Viaduct & Headstone Tunnel - Victorian Engineering Perfection
Was the closure of the Midland Railway between Matlock and the edge of Buxton the most regrettable Railway Closure? It is absolutly one of them for sure.
In Part 2 of my walk along the former railway between Bakewell & Buxton i pick up the route just before Headstone Tunnel. Walking through this victorian masterpiece i then appear right onto the main item along this route, Monsal Head Viaduct.
I take a look from above and below, plenty of drone flying and nostalgic images and film.
