"it's a small world" Holiday Backwards POV Disneyland Full Ride November 2025

This is my backwards POV of it's a small world Holiday at Disneyland from November 2025. This fantastic overlay debuted on Nov 25, 1997. It combines many Holiday decorations for each of the cultures depicted, with a great soundtrack mixing the songs it's small world & Jingle Bells. It was composed by Bruce Healey. The original it's a small world was made by Walt Disney & Unicef to provide a better understanding of cultures & their children. Originally designed for the 1964-65 World's Fair, enlarged & relocated to Fantasyland on May 28, 1966, this Happiest Cruise that ever sailed is a world of fun, laughter, & unity, which features children from all over the world. Throughout is the song, it's a small world. Walt's favorite composers, Richard & Robert Sherman, were asked to create this simple but powerful song for the first version, at the World's Fair. The message of Peace on Earth is portrayed through the many children all having similar kinds of fun in their native regions, followed by a Grand Finale where, with all borders removed, the message of it's a small world and peace on earth is reinforced for many guests, giving them a better perspective of the world around them. During this time of year there are many additions for the holidays. The best Holiday addition in my opinion is the huge sign that says Peace on Earth with a globe, multicultural children, doves above them and hanging stars below. One of the best improvements to this ride in many years was in November 2022, when two similar dolls in wheelchairs were added to the Finale and Central America scenes. The huge white & gold façade is also a draw for many, with lots of spinning flowers, landmarks, & clock tower. During the Holidays there are many lights that give the façade an extra glow at night. For most of 2008, the ride was closed for a major refurbishment. This was to repair the flume, sets & lighting, as well as the pointless decisions of adding the Disney IP characters and Spirit of America room. I feel this way because America's room goes against Walt's wish of having this ride be a tribute to the rest of the world, & the room as detailed as the rest of the ride, & the IP characters feel as if their only purpose is to make even more synergy between unrelated films & this ride. But they did improve the Finale & lighting throughout the whole ride in 2008. The ride fell into relative neglect again from the late 2010’s through 2024, but a very well executed 2025 refurbishment fixed this. They improved the lighting, sound system, & repainted everything. The attraction now looks better than it has in a long time. This is my favorite ride in Disneyland because of the amazing art style, music, and way that it gets its message across to audiences.
