When spraying First Contact Polymers we recommend avoiding overspray on unwanted areas. This video demonstrates the use of card stock, or thin single-layer cardboard, used as a masking material to control polymer overspray. This technique is demonstrated on a mounted, gold coated mirror but can be used on any mounted optic, even a square or rectangular mount since the card stock is flexible and can be bent or folded to fit curves and edges. For square, rectangular, or mounts with sharp corners the use of an oring may need to be omitted since the oring may not conform to the shape.
