Gangrape Near College Campus in Durgapur | Odisha Student Attacked in Bengal | MBBS Student Assault

Bengal is shaken by a new gangrape case in Durgapur, just months after the RG Kar tragedy. A second-year MBBS student from Odisha alleges she was brutally assaulted near her college campus.

According to the victim, she had stepped out with a classmate for a quick bite when a group of men harassed them, chased her male friend away, and dragged her into a nearby forest where she was attacked. Her mobile phone was also stolen.

The victim is currently hospitalized, and her family fears for her safety and future studies. Police have launched an investigation, but no arrests have been made yet. Local BJP leaders have protested, demanding transparency, while the NCW has called for strict action against the culprits.
