Gary Mathias, one of the five men, was never found-his disappearance remains a total mystery to this day.
Ted Weiher was found dead in a remote cabin, even though there was plenty of food and fuel inside. He died from starvation and cold, as if he never tried to save himself.
Someone had opened some of the food cans in the cabin, but left dozens untouched, even though they were easily accessible. It's believed they didn't know how to use the can opener that was right there.
Weiher's beard had grown several inches, suggesting he had survived up to 13 weeks after they disappeared
-possibly alone in the wilderness.
A forest service watchman's shoes were found in the cabin, but Gary Mathias' shoes were missing, suggesting he may have taken them and continued walking into the mountains. #horror #unsolved #mystery #coldcase
