The key components for interpreting the drawing symbols of a pneumatic directional control valve include
Ports/positions
Valve function (2/2, 3/2, 4/2, etc.) is defined by two numbers.
In other words, it is called 2- position if there are two square, and 3-position if there are three
The first number indicates the number of ports; the second, the number of valve positions.
Every solenoid valve has a specific symbol
The symbol for the solenoid valve has the same number of squares as the valve has positions.
