Central to learning experience design (LXD) is a learner's overall experience or the learning experience. However, as an instructional designer, what does this really mean?
In TrainingPros' latest webinar, How Using Empathy-Driven Personas Can Lead to Memorable Learning Experiences, Learning Experience Designer Kathy Borysiak defines what a learning experience is and what it includes.

TRANSCRIPT
This is so important. I just don't want this to be lost on people, from the very first touch point that our content has with the learner, everything that follows after that is part of the learning experience, from the moment the learner touches your content, everything is part of the learning experience.
To me, that's mind blowing. Right? Because it's not just about the course that we're building, but it's about the written content and communication that we're putting out before the course. That's the enrollment email, that's the marketing copy that's involved when we're actually pushing out a learning experience. This is especially important for those who are maybe doing consumer face courses, and we've got marketing emails going out. We're talking about the voice of the course copy, of the material copy, the relatability of the content, length of content, enrollment, communication reminders." Hey, you have an overdue course you haven't taken, there's follow up on that." I know I have a few of those in my inbox. The follow up emails. Right? All of that. That's part of the learning experience. We don't necessarily think about that.
Often we just think, " Oh, well, it's the storyboard we've written." And then we've moved it along. No, it's so much more, it's so much more
