From Pisa’s Tower to Florence’s Secret Passage 👀

After celebrating Emma’s 15th birthday in Italy, we had the best surprise of all, her best friend Betsy and her mom traveled all the way from France to join us! 🎉 Their arrival kicked off an unforgettable series of adventures together.

✨ Our first stop? Pisa! Of course, we couldn’t resist visiting the world-famous Leaning Tower of Pisa. Built in the 12th century, this bell tower began tilting during construction due to unstable soil; however, it is now one of the most iconic landmarks in the world. We share the fun of exploring the Piazza dei Miracoli, admiring the Cathedral and Baptistery, and of course snapping those classic “holding up the tower” photos.

🎨 Next, we explored something truly unique, the Galleria Vasariana (Vasari Corridor). This hidden passageway, designed by Giorgio Vasari in 1565, was constructed for the Medici family to allow them to move safely and privately between Palazzo Vecchio and Palazzo Pitti. For centuries, it was closed to the public, but today you can walk the same halls where the powerful rulers of Florence once walked, surrounded by art and history.
