Make a Hinged Hardcover Sketchbook cover using cardboard, paper, and a glue stick. Inexpensive project that's easy & quick to make/ Bookmaking for Beginners. Demonstrates how to make a hinged sketchbook cover with scrap cardboard, paper, and a glue stick. Simple and inexpensive materials, good for anyone interested in starting to make books. The only other supplies needed are scissors and a ruler. You can also use an xacto knife or box cutter if you prefer. My high school students and I are going to bind our sketchbooks with a Japanese binding technique...you could bind it many different ways. This demonstration video is step by step and shows how to create a sturdy, well-crafted sketchbook cover. This DIY cover can be decorated and embellished as you desire. This demo is great for artists and students of all levels. This technique is perfect for Art 2 and 3D Design students as well as other beginning art students.
