JBL D208/D216 restoration with NOS OEM recone kits...by Upland Loudspeaker Service

The still photograph at the beginning of this video shows how badly misaligned the spiders were from the factory. This pair of D208/D216 took some extra time and effort to save the factory recone kits that the customer sent in for me to install. There is a caveat to sourcing New Old Stock factory recone kits. Sometimes they are defective, as was the case here. The spiders were installed crooked, and needed to be removed and epoxy adhesive ground away to properly fit new spiders...otherwise the kits would not work without severe voice coil rub as assembled at the factory. The cones were also in need of a facelift and reinforcement from age. Both repairs were successful...All done at no extra charge. Included was the Full Service Teardown/Cleaning/Recharge of the frames and motors. Make them perform like new again.
