Superfans by Pat Flynn | Book Review

Super Fans by Pat Flynn, what a book. Just when you think you know enough about youtube and marking this guy comes along and teaches you a lot more.

1. Different types of People that watch your content
One thing I’ve noticed is that as I build up my youtube audience and more people subscribe
I notice that doesn’t mean every video I made is going to get 249k subscribers as I have now, and I wanted to know why
And it turns out your audience is broken down in two 3 sectors

3 parts:
You have the casuals: these are the people that might see a video and might click on it, but rarely comment and are rarely looking for your content
Then you have the Active community: people that click on your videos and comment and smash the like button
You have the SuperFans: the people that watch all of your content and always comment and are always there

To me honestly:
I feel weird even calling you guys fans
To me, it's just a community of users that are friends and share what we know
Its more like a team than fans honestly.

The point is this:
That in this book he teaches you how to take someone from being a casual to an active member to then a super fan or supported.
The key is giving people value, letting them know they are appreciated, and also being transparent
It sounds like common sense, but theirs a lot of fake personalities on social media.

2. Give People Small Wins
It’s the idea that when someone watches your videos
You want to give them something they can do today
To get some quick results and build up momentum

For example:
When I make videos about investing and being patient for your investments to grow (that sounds like a massive task)
So that’s why I saw, just open an account and start investing 10% every time you get paid
That gives you a small win and gets you to take action.

Overall: the point is if you want to help someone, you to give them somewhere small to start and build from there.

3. Do not Automate human Connection
One thing I never want to do, Is create live events/workshops
When you get someone's email and say hey your join me for this
And your commenting and interacting thinking the video is live but it's not (it's so stupid)

But I did learn:
to start doing meetups with you guys and live videos on youtube to connect with you guys and built the community stronger
there are literally 249k people interested in the money that watch this channel, 2% every day, 10% casually, and more than 90-100 when a video goes semi-viral
so it’s the perfect place to meet like-minded people

4. Bonus
Focus on building your audience and not anyone else
Focus on giving value every day
And only say yes to things you really care about

Overall: this video is an easy recommend for anyone that interested in building an online business or community
