Driver in Custody After Hit-and-Run Crash Into Home in Phoenix

PHOENIX, Ariz., Dec. 4 (KNN) – A driver was placed into police custody early Thursday morning after crashing into a home on Euclid Avenue, then driving off.
According to the Phoenix Police Department, officers responded to reports of a collision involving a pickup truck and an occupied house near the 5300 block of West Euclid Avenue.
The pickup truck driver drove away from the scene before first responders arrived.
Officers located the vehicle a short time later, with multiple flat tires, near 55th Avenue and South Mountain Avenue.
A traffic stop was initiated, and the driver yielded.
He was quickly taken into custody for hit-and-run and suspicion of impairment.
The residence that was struck by the pickup truck sustained significant damage as a result of the collision.
The garage door was destroyed, and a vehicle parked inside the garage was rammed into an interior wall of the home.
It is unknown if any residents were injured in the collision.
