The Event That Changed Beyblades in New Zealand Forever (Beyblade X)

Exactly one year ago today, we held our very first official BBNZ tournament. We believe this was also the first-ever public Beyblade tournament in New Zealand—an event where anyone could join, not just a private gathering among friends.

Fast forward one year—27 tournaments, a feature on one of New Zealand’s biggest radio stations, four major expo days, and 215 members strong—Beyblade New Zealand has grown beyond anything we ever imagined. From small battles in lounges to packed-out events, we’ve built something incredible together.

This video is a look back at where it all began—never-before-seen footage of the very first BBNZ tournament. Before the crowds, before the rankings, before we had an infinite supply of Takara Tomy Beyblades… this was the moment that started it all.
