CSM: Make a “Universal Split Ring Flat Cast-on Bonnet”

If you prefer not to use split rings you can still create a universal bonnet and hang a row of reinforced fibre/spiderwire. I use 6mm split rings which can be purchased from eBay, amazon or most any craft store.

Just want to know how to work flat on a CSM?

This video is aimed towards those comfortable with working on a csm - no ribbing is used.

We review in this video:
-project beginning, middle and end,
-how to work flat weave on a CSM regardless of machine,
-how to no-sew-later by working yarn tails into work (as you go),
-how to plan out a hung hem edge,
-how to slightly raise a cylinder needle so it knits,
-fixing just dropped stitches, slip stitch edge or regular,
-intro to my two lights, pick tool, and my hemostat clamp.

This video took 90 minutes to initially record (with two attempts), a day to determine how to best transfer the three files from my iPhone 8+ to my computer and then to my iPad, and all day today to edit.

Whether you choose the same bind off, to make this a double ended universal bonnet (split rings on top and bottom edges), or whether you choose to build this from the bottom up (like I have) or top down - what you choose to do is simply personal preference. This video is showing how its done - take the info and make your own versions!
