I just bought a 2013 Mazda 5 for my wife's convenience. The conversion is simple and low cost, less than $300.
I have spare battery and charger, so I didn't spend that much. The aluminum guard cost $28x2 from Home Depot that is a big portion of cost.
It took me around 2+ days, basically done, still need a little more to do.
Currently it is powered by a scooter battery and 2000LB winch. I haven't figure out how to run wire to front main battery. I have ordered a cigarette plug in order to charge the battery automatically when driving. Currently using an external charger.
I may also change the ramp to 1-piece straight board. And wish to find a good plastic board to make ramp (How about a folding picnic table?)
The back door handle wasn't drill thru, you better remove the inner plastic panel, drill thru the steel panel and then make the rope.
