Welcome to the first Civilization VII story. In this video, I attempt to retell a compelling history of the first game I played on Deity difficulty as Xerxes. Because we are forced to change civilizations during the game, I am just Xerxes—not Xerxes of any particular civilization. Civilizations aren't important anymore; they are just means to an end.
There is a lot to learn about this new version of Civilization. Is playing on Deity difficult? How do you even win this game? What the hell is a legacy path? What is the history of a person who lives for thousands of years (minus the lost years between ages)?
Anyway, enjoy this alternative history through the lens of (I can no longer say "the world's most addictive") a video game.
