Zootopia 2 is a 2025 American animated buddy cop comedy film produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios and the sequel to Zootopia (2016).

Zootopia 2 picks up after the events of the original film, with Judy Hopps (Ginnifer Goodwin) and Nick Wilde (Jason Bateman) now serving as detective partners in the Zootopia Police Department. Their once-rocky friendship has matured into a strong professional bond, but a twisting new case unfolds when a mysterious reptile named Gary De’Snake arrives in town and upends the peace in Zootopia.

As the unlikely duo investigates, they find themselves going undercover to unexpected corners of the city, confronting prejudice and assumptions in ways that echo (but expand on) the original film’s themes. Their partnership is tested like never before, and they must navigate danger, deception, and new allies while protecting their beloved city. Along the way, iconic characters return and fresh faces add new energy to the world of Zootopia, making this sequel both a nostalgic return and an exciting evolution of the first movie’s message about friendship, understanding, and unity in diversity.

So many fun references in this one but our favorite by far was The Shining! Never expected to get a Shining scene in Zootopia 2!
