“Songs Of Life” was written by Neil Diamond and Gilbert Becaud and was released on the soundtrack for the movie The Jazz Singer, copyright 1980 Capitol Records, with a re-release in 1996 on Columbia Records. The song was played when Jess (Neil Diamond) was conflicted with the departure from his old life as a Cantor to his new life as a pop singer. Also, the separation from his wife, meeting his new lover, and his father disowning him for his decisions.
