World Vision Ghana has unveiled an ambitious $51.7 million Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) business plan for 2026–2030. The initiative, themed 'Mapping the Blue Thread,' aims to deliver sustainable WASH services across 23 districts in Ghana.
The five-year plan targets over 700,000 children with safe water access, 343,000 people with improved sanitation, and more than 535,000 with dignified hygiene solutions. During the launch in Accra, World Vision Ghana’s National Director, Dr. Tinah Mukunda, emphasized the importance of ensuring universal access to safe, affordable, and sustainable WASH services.
Despite progress in Ghana’s WASH sector, challenges persist—including water source contamination, limited toilet access, and open defecation in rural areas. Government officials called for more investment and collaboration to achieve universal WASH coverage.
This video explores the details of the new WASH business plan, the impact it aims to create, and the broader challenges of achieving clean water and sanitation for all in Ghana.
