Israeli NDE - Jewish Background Near Death Experience & Universal Language of the Soul | Hila Baruch

In 2014, Hila Baruch from Israel bled out following a “normal” surgery and had an NDE that changed her world. Having worked for years in Israel as a courtroom attorney, her experience left her with the knowledge that she is not who she thought she was and that she could no longer continue her work as before — realizations that were challenging at first but led ultimately to a real sense of freedom.

While coming to terms with her NDE, Hila discovered that Israel lacked sources of support for NDEers and felt called to create a local IANDS chapter to connect with other experiencers, raise public awareness, and provide support for those struggling with the aftereffects of similar episodes. “It’s very natural to get out of the body,” she says, “but getting back to it is another story… ”

What is a NDE or Near-Death Experience?
A near-death experience (NDE) is typically a profound, life changing, intensely emotional experience that usually occurs during a clinical crisis and has common characteristics and aftereffects. It is not a dream, hallucination, or mental illness (Greyson, 1983). There are no predictive variables to identify who will have an NDE. They happen to people of all ages, religions, socio-economic groups, cultures, educational backgrounds, and belief systems. They occur under a variety of circumstances such as accidents, near-drownings, illnesses, combat, surgical procedures, and childbirth. Following an NDE, experiencers (NDErs) often display some common aftereffects. Research has established a set of common NDE characteristics and long-term aftereffects. Common theories used to explain near-death experiences have been proven inadequate by NDE researchers and others.
