🍪💈🍪💈🍪 The COOKIE ROLL- DIY doggo enrichment project #4 🍪💈🍪💈🍪
Sturdy enough for enthusiastic players, easy to clean, and it won’t get stuck under the furniture or crash into things.
The PVC construction makes it suitable for outdoor play. It's made with removable and replaceable parts, too.
If you want to make your own, I posted the instructions below.

2 end caps for Ø 100 mm tube (you want the kind that unscrews)

Threaded rod Ø 10 mm - 1m

Self-adhesive grip tape
Units and dimensions are for Europe.
Most of these supplies should be available at your local hardware store, although you may need to go to the big online merchant with a smile on the box to order the caps and 5-way connectors.
*TOOLS*
Miter saw - for making straight cuts
Drill and drill bits
Measuring tape, pen
PVC glue + sandpaper and alcohol for cleaning
Optional: PVC paint
✅ PREP
Cut the PVC tubes according to your dimensions.
You can adapt the dimensions to the size of your dog.
Here are the dimensions to build the version in the video:
— Ø 32 mm —
1 x 65 cm
2 x 45 cm
6 x 25 cm
— Ø 100 mm —
1 x 45 cm
✅ HOW TO
1 Assemble the base and barrel
Insert 3 of the 25 cm (Ø 32mm) pieces into each 5-way connector as shown in the video. Attach the 45cm posts to each leg. Pop on the caps. Connect the two legs you made with the 65cm middle part.
Check the fit of the sleeves (if using) and end caps on the barrel pipe.
2 Glue end caps and sleeves
Clean the surfaces that will be glued with alcohol. Apply glue according to manufacturer’s instructions and glue end caps to sleeves. Let set.
3 Glue sleeves to barrel.
Let set between glueing each side.
4 Drill holes in end caps
Unscrew the caps and drill a hole in the center of each the size of your threaded rod.
I forgot to film it, but you’ll also need to drill holes into the uprights to fit your threaded rod. Use a height that works for your dog.
CAUTION: Always follow safety precautions when using power tools. If in doubt, refer to the tool manufacturer's instruction manual.
5 Optional: If you want to paint your Cookie Roll, this is a good time to do that.
6 Fix grip tape to barrel
The grip tape gives your dog’s paws or nose better traction on the barrel. I cut three strips and glued them at equal distances along the length of the barrel.
7 Drill holes into the barrel assembly
Make sure the holes fit the size cookies you will be using. The cookies should fall out without getting stuck. We used a drill press for this. Try to make the holes at random intervals and not exactly opposite each other. The more holes, the easier the toy will be.
8 Deburr and attach caps
Smooth off the holes on the inside of the barrel with sandpaper. Put the caps back on the barrel.
9 Slide barrel on threaded rod
Slide your barrel assembly onto the threaded rod, and fix it in place with the nuts.
Cut off any excess length so the ends are protected by the wing nuts.
10 TEST !!
Make any necessary adjustments.
RECOMMENDED:
After testing, I glued all the parts of the base to improve stability.
⚠️ This is an interactive toy and should not be left with your dog unattended.
🐾 ❤️ 🐾 Have fun playing! Let's see some cookie rolls!!! 🐾 ❤️ 🐾
