It is important to note first that Ph is much less important than TDS in a shrimp tank. This is why so often that hobbyists kill shrimp. They add shrimp to an aquarium that has a much lower or higher TDS than previously. The Ph makes little to no difference to shrimp. In nature, the water fluctuates and the Ph will change continuously.
TDS is an essential measurement for freshwater shrimp as shrimp are sensitive in nature. A TDS pen is a great tool for this. Maintaining a TDS is done by adding pure RO/DI water into the shrimp tank to account for evaporation.
If a hobbyist wishes to use RO/DI water or distilled water oppose to tap water, than a remineralizer is necessary to achieve a proper TDS in the shrimp tank. A great mineralizer that I currently use for all my breeding tanks is here:
For neocaridina shrimp:

For more information, please read the product description on the above links. Learning what TDS is and how it plays an affect on shrimp is essential to successful caring and breeding of freshwater shrimp. Caring for shrimp is important for the preservation of many species.
