For over eight years, the Rohingya people have been carrying memories of the horrific mass killings, sexual violence, burning of children and entire villages during the Myanmar military’s 2017 genocidal “clearance operations” - forcing more than 740,000 people to flee to Bangladesh.
Watch the members of the victims delegation supported by LAW reflect on what they lived through, how they continue to work to end impunity, and why they are now travelling to The Hague for the historic merits hearings in The Gambia v. Myanmar to seek recognition of genocide, accountability, and reparations.
