Factor V Leiden (also known as Activated Protein C Resistance) is a relatively common inherited hematologic condition involving increased risk of thromboses. Thus, symptoms of Factor V Leiden have to do with increased risk of thrombosis, including deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism. In this lesson, we discuss the pathogenesis of this condition, along with other symptoms, how Factor V leiden is diagnosed and how it is treated.
