Rough Crossing from Bahamas to Turks & Caicos | Water in the Boat & Gear Flying

This passage tested us. We set sail from Mayaguana, Bahamas to West Caicos and quickly found ourselves in a rough, uncomfortable sail—things flying, gear tossed around, and water making its way inside the boat. Not exactly the dream crossing… but all part of life at sea.

After finally arriving in West Caicos, we continued on to Sapodilla Bay, Providenciales, where calm waters and turquoise blues were a welcome change.

Plus an easy, straightforward check-in to Turks & Caicos, anchoring off a busy but beautiful tourist beach with restaurants just steps from the water, and a scooter run to a well-stocked grocery store with surprisingly good prices.
From rough seas to island comforts, this is cruising life—highs, lows, and everything in between.
