an unforgettable week creating ceramics using an anagama (woodfired kiln) in the mountains in rural japan. witnessing how the kiln & pottery brings the whole community together was truly a highlight of the whole artist residency - coupled with learning how to make mochi and participating in a tea ceremony during the firing.
