Some historical sources document the building as early as the year 1000. The current parish church was rebuilt in 1600, with larger dimensions and a different orientation. In the nineteenth century the final arrangement of the rich decoration took place. The building has three naves and inside there are, in addition to the statue of the Madonna della Letter sculpted in 1766 by an unknown sculptor, also several cycles of frescoes by the painter Nicolò Barabino. The baroque façade houses in the center, in a niche, the marble statue of St. James.
